Billing in Nimbus is handled per organization and powered by Stripe. This guide covers trials, plans, the customer portal, and how AI usage is metered.
Open Settings → Billing. You will see the organization's current plan, status, renewal date, and AI usage. Billing actions require an organization owner or admin.
Plans come in two families, matching the organization type:
Each plan sets, among other things, an AI token limit per Business Unit per month.
New organizations can start a free trial without entering a payment method. Choose a plan family (direct or agency) and Nimbus creates a trialing subscription. The trial end date is shown on the Billing screen. You can connect Business Units and use every feature during the trial.
When you are ready to subscribe, click Checkout. Nimbus opens a Stripe Checkout session in a new tab; complete payment there and you are returned to Nimbus with an active subscription.
Click Manage billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can update the payment method, download invoices, change plan, or cancel. Changes made in the portal flow back to Nimbus through a Stripe webhook, so the Billing screen stays in sync automatically.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `trialing` | In a free trial. |
| `active` | Paid and current. |
| `past_due` | A payment failed; update the payment method. |
| `canceled` | The subscription has ended. |
| `incomplete` | Checkout was started but not finished. |
AI features — remediation and the AI Assistant — consume tokens. Nimbus meters output tokens per Business Unit per calendar month against your plan's limit.
The Billing screen shows, per Business Unit:
When a Business Unit reaches its limit, AI actions for that Business Unit pause until the next month. Monitoring, reruns, events, and every non-AI feature keep working normally — only AI diagnosis and the assistant are affected.
