The AI Assistant

The AI Assistant is a chat panel, available on every page, that answers plain-language questions about the current Business Unit. It is the fastest way to get an operational answer without clicking through screens.

Opening the assistant #

Click the AI button in the sidebar. A chat panel slides out. Type a question, or pick one of the suggestion chips to get started.

What you can ask #

The assistant is grounded in your live SFMC data — it does not guess. Useful prompts:

  • "What's running right now?"
  • "Any failures in the last 24 hours?"
  • "Why did the nightly audience build fail?"
  • "Which data extensions are stale?"
  • "Show me recent imports with errors."
  • "Are there any query conflicts this week?"
  • "What's the schedule for the welcome automation?"

How it answers #

The assistant streams its reply as it works. When it needs data, it calls a tool and you see a short label — "Fetching events", "Analyzing stats" — before the answer continues. Behind the scenes it has tools to:

  • List recent events, failures, and running automations.
  • Pull automation statistics and run details.
  • Read data extensions and their detail.
  • List recent imports.
  • Give a cross-tenant or single-tenant overview.
  • Find query conflicts, search queries, and read query and schedule detail.

Because every answer is built from real query results, you can trust the numbers — and ask follow-up questions in the same conversation.

Scope and context #

The assistant answers about the Business Unit currently selected in the sidebar. Switch tenants and the assistant's context switches with it. It sees the same data your role is allowed to see.

AI usage #

Like AI remediation, the assistant consumes AI tokens, tracked per Business Unit per month against your plan's limit. If a Business Unit hits its limit, the assistant is paused until the next billing period. Usage is shown under Settings → Billing.
